The short answer: BCB Group is real — but read this before you hand over any money

BCB Group is BCB Group, the institutional payments firm whose UK subsidiary is BCB Payments Limited. These are the facts that check out on public registers — the complaint record is what our review is still working through:

  • BCB's own company page: BCB Payments Limited is regulated in the UK by the FCA as an authorised payment institution under the Payment Services Regulations 2017, firm reference number 807377. The same page gives BCB Markets (Switzerland) Sárl business identification CHE-415.135.958, and says BCB Payments Europe SASU received ACPR and AMF authorisation in April 2024 as an e-money institution and a digital-asset service provider under number 735745.
  • The FCA's clone warning for SafeBTCCompany names the genuine firm as BCB Payments Limited, FRN 807377, address Bloomsbury House, 74-77 Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DA, website bcbgroup.io.
  • BCB's customer-protection page says staff email only from @bcbgroup.io, the firm does not contact clients on WhatsApp, it does not give investment advice, and it deals with institutional, corporate and professional customers.

Checking out is not the same as closed: the complaints against BCB Group are under active investigation, and none of the facts above protects you from a fake. Most 'bcb group scam' searches trace to impersonators, not the platform itself — the ones that don't are the reason we investigate.

One more thing before you deposit: the complaints around BCB Group are under investigation — by us, not by a regulator. The complaint pattern around this name is impersonation. SafeBTCCompany is one clone the FCA has already listed, and BCB publishes a further list of fraudulent groups using its name. A WhatsApp “BCB” adviser, a Yahoo or Hotmail address, or a request to send crypto to a wallet the console did not generate is not BCB. Type bcbgroup.com yourself.

Sort your situation

Real-platform dispute or impersonation fraud?

Both feel identical from the inside. They are fixed by completely different routes — and the fastest way to tell them apart is to ask three questions.

If it is the real platform: your dispute runs through its formal complaints process, then the regulator or ombudsman. Slow, but it usually works. Retail investment advice is outside what BCB says it does. If someone offers you a personal trading account under this name, you are not talking to BCB.

If it was an impersonator: you were never a customer of BCB Group at all. A clone site, a fake “account manager”, a lookalike domain — the money went to criminals, not to the platform. That is fraud, and speed decides what can be recovered.

The three questions: did you type the official domain yourself, or follow a link, advert or message? Did anyone contact you first? Were you asked to pay a personal account or a different domain? If any answer is wrong, treat it as impersonation — and start here.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is BCB Group a scam?

No — BCB Group is a real business: BCB's own company page: BCB Payments Limited is regulated in the UK by the FCA as an authorised payment institution under the Payment Services Regulations 2017, firm reference number 807377. The same page gives BCB Markets (Switzerland) Sárl business identification CHE-415.135.958, and says BCB Payments Europe SASU received ACPR and AMF authorisation in April 2024 as an e-money institution and a digital-asset service provider under number 735745. The scam stories you see online usually trace to fakes borrowing its name — and the ones that don't are part of our active investigation. But read the note above first — the business is real, and so are the caveats.

Is BCB Group regulated?

BCB Payments Limited is an FCA-authorised payment institution, FRN 807377. Confirm that name on the FCA register, then use only bcbgroup.com and email at bcbgroup.io.

I lost money to someone claiming to be BCB Group — is that the real company?

Almost certainly not. Impersonators borrow the name, the logo, even the licence number. The real company knows nothing about it. Keep every message, receipt, URL and wallet address — that evidence is what an investigation builds on.

I paid a fake BCB Group site. What is enough to send?

The domain you actually used, the date, and whether it was a card, a bank transfer, or crypto. Or the name of the person who told you to pay. Or one screenshot. Where the same payment shows up from other people, those files can sit together as a class action. The first look is free.

How do I check the BCB Group site I used is genuine?

Type the official domain yourself — bcbgroup.com — never follow a link from an advert, email or message. Then check the regulator's public register, which lists the firm's genuine website. If your domain differs by even one character, it was a fake.
